Pumpkin Carving

The past few days have been especially busy!
Darcy, Skylee, and I had a girls date to Barnes N Noble where we spent several hours reading children's books, playing with the character stuffed animals (they read books with us), and practicing our inside voices. :)
I have a feeling I'm going to be buying a lot of books for Christmas, now. There are so many clever ones!
I am so happy Skylee loves reading.
We finished the day with oatmeal cookies and espresso (chocolate milk for Skylee), and Darcy bought Skylee a book: Can I Play Too? It is about an elephant, a pig, and a snake. (The snake is why she bought it..Skylee loves cute snakes.) And, I am proud to announce, it is the longest book Skylee has ever read! It has 58 pages, and we read it multiple times a day.
Her other favorite books at the moment include Brown Bear Brown Bear, If You Give a Pig a Party, Hooray for Fish, Sammy the Snail, Dora's Halloween Book, I Spy, and the Jungle Book.

The past two days have been spent picking out pumpkins, painting pumpkins, and carving pumpkins!
Caleb carved a spooky face in his pumpkin while Skylee and I worked on a spider web on another. Later, Skylee helped me carve a face in her tiny pumpkin, and she painted two pumpkins green and purple.
She especially loved pulling out the insides of the pumpkins and separating the pumpkin handfuls and the seeds.

Also, today she announced a new favorite meal: Chicken Noodle Soup with added carrots and peas.
It has been a week of soup with chili, vegetable soup, and chicken noodle.

  1. Soup weeks are always good things. <3
I love your pumpkins! They came out really well! And it looks like Caleb has lost weight. And you're gorgeous, as always. And Skylee is so big now! She looks so healthy and happy.

You've just got a good lookin' family, y'hear??
